May 10, 2024

Just after 1pm on Tuesday, Millwood FD Engine 247 was requested to relocate to Ossining FD headquarters while they operated at a structure fire in their district. Car 2251 (Chief Rodrigues), Car 2252 (Chief McCarthy), and Engine 247 were quickly on the road and while en route, were requested to respond directly to the scene. Upon arrival, the crew from Engine 247 assisted Ossining FD, Croton-on-Hudson FD, and Thornwood FD members with overhauling the structure and clean-up of hoselines and the scene. Millwood units returned to service an hour and a half later. While this incident was ongoing, Car 2253 (Chief Santone) and a full crew stood by to cover our district

Later Tuesday evening, while our weekly drill was wrapping up at Station 2, Millwood FD Tanker 15 was requested to respond mutual aid to the Armonk FD at an upgraded structure fire. This also brought units from Bedford FD, Mt. Kisco FD, Banksville FD, Bedford Hills FD, Katonah FD and Pound Ridge FD. Car 2253 (Chief Santone) and Tanker 15 were on the road moments after dispatch. As crews were responding, Armonk FD command reported that the fire had been knocked down and requested Tanker 15 to redirect to their HQ to cover their district in the event of another call. Car 2253 and Tanker 15 remained on standby at Armonk FD HQ for 2 hours before returning to service. Car 2252 (Chief McCarthy ) and a full crew provided District coverage.
