Just before 3pm on Wednesday afternoon, Millwood FD Tanker 15 was requested on the 1st Alarm assignment to a working structure fire in Somers FD's district. Car 2252 (Chief McCarthy), Car 2253 (Chief Santone), and Tanker 15 were on the road moments later. Upon arrival on scene, the fire was knocked down by first due Somers FD members and Tanker 15 was staged just past the driveway. The situation was quickly brought under control and Millwood units were back in service within 30 minutes.
At 11:30 yesterday morning, Millwood FD Rescue 36 was requested as the cascade unit on the 1st Alarm assignment to a working structure fire on the Phelps Hospital Campus in Sleepy Hollow FD's district. Car 2251 (Chief Rodrigues), Car 2252 ( Chief McCarthy), and Rescue 36 with a full crew responded and were immediately put to work upon their arrival. Shortly after getting on scene, a 2nd Alarm was transmitted by Incident Command. Millwood FD members went to the 2nd floor of the building to relieve interior crews and used a handline to extinguish pockets of fire while other members assisted by opening ceilings and digging through debris to expose hot spots. Millwood members operated in Sleepy Hollow for just over an hour before returning to service. During this time FF's standing by at Station 1 responded to a report of a fire at Gedney Park with Car 2253 ( Chief Santone) and U145. The fire was quickly extinguished and those units returned to service.
