Another busy year for your Millwood volunteers! Millwood FD responded to 338 incidents this year, our third busiest year since 2012, including 85 mutual aid requests throughout Westchester County, and even into Rockland County.

Millwood FD handled numerous types of emergencies in 2023:
- Fire/CO Alarm Activations: 125 (37%)
- Rescue/EMS: 58 (17%)
- Structural Fire-Related Calls: 54 (16%)
- Hazardous Conditions: 48 (14%)
- Good Intent: 30 (9%)
- Service: 21 (6%)
- Compressed Gas Emergency: 2 (1%)

We responded to numerous notable incidents this year, including:
- 3 In-District Structure Fires
- Multi-Alarm Brush Fire throughout Rockland County
- Relocation to Purchase during a Multi-Alarm Structure Fire in Port Chester
- Scarborough Train Station Roof Fire in Briarcliff Manor
- Multi-Alarm Brush Fire in Montrose

Of our 338 incidents in 2023, 20% of members responded to over 40% of calls. Our top responders of 2023 were:
- 3rd Lieutenant Will Field: 245 (73%)
- Firefighter Tom Harris: 163 (48%)
- Driver Training Instructor Jan Schwark: 167 (47%)
- Firefighter Choire Sicha: 167 (47%)
- Firefighter Sal Santucci: 156 (46%)

All 3 of our chiefs also responded to over 50% of calls in 2023:
- Chief Jorge Rodrigues: 306 (91%)
- 1st Assistant Chief Rob McCarthy: 192 (57%)
- 2nd Assistant Chief Greg Santone: 330 (98%)

We’re proud to have 6 members complete or in-progress of completing New York State Firefighter 1 this year:
- Firefighter Alex Brandoff
- Firefighter Adam Campagna
- Firefighter Patrick Fang
- Firefighter Cole Fitzgerald
- Firefighter Michael Lavender
- Firefighter Neel Roy

We also had 8 members become certified on various apparatus and continue their training in 2024 to get passed off on more.

Throughout 2023, Millwood FD participated in numerous parades, including the New Castle Memorial Day Parade, and won trophies at parades in Pleasantville, Yorktown Heights, Ossining, and Mt. Kisco.

Millwood FD thanks all of our members for another successful year, and we look forward to celebrating our 100th Anniversary in 2024!
