At 5am on New Year’s Eve, Millwood FD Mini-Attack 10 was requested mutual aid to assist the Mohegan Lake FD at a working structure fire due to a long, narrow dirt driveway. Car 2251 (Chief Raguso), 2253 (Chief McCarthy), and Mini-Attack 10 responded and were put to work with members of Lake Mohegan FD, Putnam Valley FD, Continental Village FD, Montrose FD, and Westchester County DES Hazmat Team. Due to propane tank involvement, New York State Fire responded to help blow off the rest of the propane tank. After about 7 hours on scene, Millwood FD units returned to service.

This incident shows the importance of having Mini-Attack 10, as many driveways throughout Millwood and Westchester County are very narrow, requiring this specialized resource to access them in the event of an emergency.
