Your Millwood FD volunteers had a busy start to the weekend with 2 out of district structure fires.

First, on Friday at 2:30pm, Millwood FD Engine 247 was requested to respond to assist Lake Mohegan FD at a 2nd Alarm structure fire in their district. Car 2252 (Chief McCarthy) and a full crew on Engine 247 assembled and responded to Mohegan Lake moments after dispatch. While on scene, Millwood members operated a hoseline at the front of the building, as well as assisted with overhaul efforts to ensure all pockets of fire were extinguished. Millwood FD operated on scene for 2.5 hours before returning to service.

On Saturday, just as members were finishing vehicle extrication training, Engine 247 was dispatched to standby at Ossining FD headquarters while they operated at an incident involving a vehicle into a building that resulted in a structure fire. Upon arrival in Ossining, Car 2252 and Engine 247 were requested to respond to the scene to provide manpower. The crew of Engine 247 was immediately tasked with assisting Ossining FD with clearing out debris on the 3rd floor to ensure all fire was extinguished. Millwood members remained on scene for an hour and a half before returning to service.
