Mutual Aid Responses to Briarcliff Manor and Ossining

August 6, 2024

Just before 4pm Saturday afternoon, Millwood FD Ladder 52 was requested to a reported house struck by lightning and smoke in the structure in the Briarcliff Manor FD district. Upon the arrival of Ladder 52 on scene, Briarcliff Manor FD members had determined that while there was an odor of smoke, there was no fire present and returned Ladder 52 and the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department FASTeam to service.

Just as Ladder 52 was returning to our district, Engine 247 was dispatched to a confirmed structure fire in the Ossining FD district. Car 2251 (Chief Rodrigues), Car 2252 (Chief McCarthy), and Engine 247 were on the road shortly after the request. Upon arrival, the crew of Engine 247 assisted with overhaul, checking for extension on the first and second floor of the structure, and roof operations. Millwood members were back in service within 2 hours.

While crews operated in Ossining, Car 2253 ( Chief Santone ) and Ladder 52 covered an AFA on Somerstown Road.
