At 5:20pm yesterday evening, Millwood FD Engine 248 was requested to standby at Ossining FD headquarters while they operated at a confirmed auto body shop fire in their district. Moments after dispatch, Ossining Command requested Engine 248 respond directly to the scene instead. Car 2251 (Chief Rodrigues) and Engine 248 responded with a full crew. Upon arrival on scene, Millwood members worked with members of Ossining FD and Croton-on-Hudson FD to operate handlines inside the structure, extinguish car fires in the rear of the structure, and assisted with overhaul. Millwood members operated for over 3 hours before returning to service.
