At 4:30pm yesterday afternoon, Millwood FD was dispatched to a reported brush fire at Somerstown Road and Vails Lane. Units arrived on scene and confirmed the grass below power lines experiencing an electrical issue was on fire. Due to the involvement of power lines, the crews from Engine 247 and Engine 248 kept the brush fire at bay until the arrival of Con Ed. Once Con Ed arrived and deemed the electrical situation as safe for our members to operate, the crews were able to fully extinguish the fire.
