Just before 8am this morning, Millwood FD Rescue 36 was requested mutual aid as a cascade unit to a working structure fire in the Pound Ridge Volunteer Fire Department's district. Car 2253 (Chief Santone) and Rescue 36 responded, assisting in replenishing air bottles for operating crews from Pound Ridge FD, Vista FD, South Salem FD, Bedford FD, Bedford Hills FD, Katonah FD, Golden's Bridge FD, Croton Falls FD, Banksville FD, and Mt. Kisco FD. Millwood FD units remained on scene for about 2 hours before returning to service.

The cascade unit on Rescue 36 is frequently requested to respond mutual aid to assist fire departments in the area. The cascade unit's purpose is to refill air bottles on the fireground, allowing for a surplus of filled bottles for interior crews to use if they need to switch their bottle out for a filled one.
