At 7:25 yesterday evening, Millwood FD was dispatched with Ossining VAC to a reported motor vehicle accident into a pole with extrication required and possibly on fire on the Taconic State Parkway northbound. Upon arrival, Car 2251 (Chief Raguso) and Car 2253 (Chief McCarthy) found the vehicle had crashed into a telephone pole while exiting at Pinesbridge Road, taking down wires and rolling over. The driver of the vehicle was temporarily entrapped but police units quickly removed him. Rescue 36 arrived on scene and provided lighting, as well as assisted with mitigating roadway hazards while Engine 247 closed Pinesbridge Road and Engine 248 closed the exit ramp. The driver was transported to Westchester Medical Center by Ossining VAC and Millwood units returned to service within an hour.
