Last night, Millwood FD members had the special opportunity to head south to the Westchester County Fire Training Center in Valhalla to review important skills in live fire scenarios. With 22 firefighters from Millwood FD, Sleepy Hollow FD, Briarcliff Manor FD, and Chappaqua FD, we had the chance to practice evolutions including stretching hoselines, conducting search and rescue operations, and using thermal imaging cameras. Reviewing these techniques at the Training Center provides members with invaluable experience in putting some of the skills we practice on a weekly basis to work in real-world scenarios.
